IAN ROBERTSON
Australia GTF Level IV Member, Queensland, Australia

My name is Ian Robertson and I have been involved with this wonderful game since childhood. I have been the teaching pro at Tanawha Valley Golf Course on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast for almost 10 years, and a member of the Australian Golf Teachers Federation since 2004. In my time here at Tanawha, I’ve built up a large client base, consisting of adults and children from all over the coast.

One of my proudest achievements has been the implementation of a structured junior golf program, which in its early stages was a very humble affair (I think I had three kids in my first group). It now consistently attracts 60+ kids of all ages, term in and term out, for a nine-week after-school block of lessons and has produced several potential stars of the future. Junior golf is high on my agenda, and developing skills with these young people is not only rewarding as a coach, but also as a life skill.

Being part of such a great organization as the World Golf Teachers Federation has changed my life and given me great opportunities to create long-lasting friendships and brought out the best in me. I feel truly lucky to be able to do what I love to do every day.
